My name is Hendrix Gamalinda. I specialize in online content creation.

I have 5+ years of industry experience working alongside talented and skilled team members for online campaigns in a variety of roles, with work spanning from web design, front-end development, flash animation, illustration, branding and logo design.

My passion for visual communication and design was indirectly introduced via Saturday morning cartoons and comic books. Vibrant colours and engaging panels drilled into my imagination and manifested into superhero sketches lined with broken crayons.

The same love to create, first moved on to the screen with Microsoft Paint running on Windows 3.1. I might as well have etched on the monitor with a rock instead of using those tools, but moving those first pixels started a lifelong obsession.

I added to my tools and pursued these interests in my post-secondary studies and was among the first to graduate from UofT and Sheridan College’s joint program, Communication Culture and Information Technology (CCIT). Lectures on cultural studies, visual communication, semiotics and design theory formalized my interests and gave me the foundation to build a career in new media.

I’ve started my career as an Online Production Artist, learning the guts of a page before I could even address its aesthetics. I currently work in Toronto as a Senior Designer and am responsible for branding and designing various web properties.

In addition to showcasing some of the projects I’ve worked on, Hiredrix.com will be a place where I’ll be sharing ideas and resources found online with my peers and with anybody with shared interests. Rock n’ roll & design.
